Ingredients

  • Filling
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted and cooled

  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

  • Dough
  • 2 cups flour

  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

  • 4 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

  • 3 tablespoons butter

  • 3/4 cup milk

  • Icing
  • 4 oz cream cheese, room temp

  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, room temp

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 375’F

    Filling
  • Stir melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl. Set Aside
  • Dough
  • Stir flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder together in a medium bowl.
  • Cut in butter with a fork or pastry blender.
  • Slowly add milk and stir until you have a crumbly dough.
  • Knead dough with hands until it forms more of a uniform ball.
  • Roll dough out onto a lightly floured surface into a rectangle until it is about 1/4″ thick.
  • Spread filling evenly on dough.
  • Roll dough into a log.
  • Slice log into 6-8 even pieces and place into a greased or lined muffin pan.
  • Bake at 375′ F for 15-20 minutes or until starting to get golden brown.
  • Icing
  • While muffins are baking, In a stand or hand mixer, cream together softened butter and softened cream cheese.
  • Add vanilla and powdered sugar.
  • Mix until combined.
  • Spread on top of warm muffins!
